One of the forefathers of power tools, Bosch has been continuously in the top 3 tool manufacturers for many decades now. Although it hasn’t always been number 1, the Bosch Group has been always dedicated to improvement as well as innovation. Ever since the funding of Bosch back in 1886, Bosch has strived to reinvent the wheel but in a more streamlined way.

They have done the same with a plethora of their products but this has mainly happened with their corded and cordless power tools. The indoctrination of high-powered batteries, heavy duty-work isn’t unusual for Bosch power tools to be able to handle. These capabilities span across their wide selection of tools.

Types of Bosch Power Tools

Router

No, I’m not talking about the one with antennas but rather the tool that can make cuts while it’s spinning. Routers are used mainly in woodworking and thus these Bosch tools are also capable of shaping and trimming wood. These Bosch power tools are used to finish corners and edges.

Impact Drill

Also known as an impact driver, an impact drill is used to drive fasteners. Although its looks make it seem like you can drill a hole with one, impact drivers are actually able to drive fasteners in different materials not just in the hole made for the thread they come with.

Rotary Hammer

Now if you want a drill, especially for heavy-duty applications, then you should consider going for a rotary hammer. This is because a rotary hammer relies on hammering action as well as rotation in order to make the bit go through a certain material. These Bosch tools are also known as demolition hammers as their destructive power can help break down walls.

Jigsaw

Also referred to as a bayonet saw, this power tool is used to cut materials into any shape you want. This is thanks to the saw blade which is moved forward and backwards or up and down, depending on how you look at it, by an electric motor. Jigsaws are quite portable and versatile as you can carve a pumpkin with it if you want to or just focus on your DIY project.

Reciprocating Saw

A sawzall or reciprocating saw is a push-pull saw that makes the blade cut materials around a small piece of furniture or plumbing. The unique advantage of a sawzall is that it can be used in awkward places, where more conventional tools aren’t able to fit let alone do the task they’re made for.

Planer

What once used to be available only in industrial applications is a planer. Also used for woodworking, today you can find handheld planers that are able to trim a surface down so that they are flat. There is no better way to flatten any wooden surface than with a plane as it makes for an effortless task that is going to produce accurate and clean finishes.

Orbital Sander

Another way to create a smooth surface would be with an orbital sander. The difference between this tool and a planer is that you can use an orbital sander for different surfaces. Another difference is that an orbital sander works by rotating a disc elliptically so that you can remove material rather quickly.

Belt Sander

The largest of all other types of sanders, belt sanders are used for the first round of sanding. This is because the belt of sandpaper they operate, as it’s not made to make any delicate finishes. Tried and true, belt sanders are made for large surfaces since they are a lot bigger than other sanders.

Random Orbit Sander

Although smaller than a belt sander, a random orbit sander works much more efficiently. While it looks like an orbital sander, a random orbit sander has its disc spinning in a non-predictable pattern. This creates fewer scratches and a smoother finish a lot quicker but it also wears out the disc much faster too.

Cordless Screwdriver

Despite being called screwdrivers, these Bosch tools are multi-purpose power tools that can do almost everything from fastening down shelf brackets to assembling RTA furniture. Powered by electricity, these screwdrivers are quite light even for cordless tools and they can be used anywhere you need to use them, granted they have enough charge.

Heat Gun

Although heat guns only do one thing, they do it so well that you can use them for more than just to remove stickers. You can do stuff like, thaw frozen pipes, get rid of wallpaper, strip paint and bend plastic components.

Angle Grinder

With an angle grinder, you can cut through different materials such as brick, cast iron, concrete and even metal. Due to their compact size, angle grinders can fit into tight spaces as long as your hand fits that is. You can also polish tiles and sharpen the blades of other tools with an angle grinder.
