11 Types of Seat Covers You Can Put in Your Kluger

A seven-seater might not be for everyone unless you’re sharing a daily commute with lots of people or you want to be able to bring your family on a long road trip without a fuss. The Kluger is the perfect vehicle for both but as you’d expect this large front-wheel-driven SUV is not the best when it comes to fuel economy.

But if you don’t mind a thirsty V6 under the bonnet and want a budget-friendly and well-equipped Japanese SUV then you’re not going to make a mistake going with the Kluger. The only area you may not be as impressed as others is the interior but that can be easily changed with seat covers.

Benefits of Using Seat Covers

Aesthetics

The biggest reason why you should put seat covers in your Kluger is the fact that they’ll change its appearance. You can go for different designs of Toyota Kluger seat covers that you want to see on the actual seats and get multiple covers so that you can use change up the interior as you like.

Protection

The second most important advantage of Kluger seat covers is that they protect the seats from dirt, mud, claws, spills, the sun and more. This way it’s a lot easier to keep the seats of your Kluger in good shape.

Maintenance

By having an extra layer of material over the seats you make it a lot easier to keep them clean. Also, seat covers are quite easy to clean too as you only need to throw most of them in the washer and then dry them off to keep the interior smelling fresh and free of dust and debris.

Types of Seat Covers

Canvas

If you’ll use your Kluger to go on adventures you should go for seat covers made of canvas. This is a hard-wearing and durable material that will keep sharp objects and water from getting to the seats. But as you’d expect canvas Kluger seat covers aren’t that comfortable so they’re not ideal when you’re going on long-distance trips.

Neoprene

If you’ve worn a wetsuit, you’ll feel a familiar material when you sit on a neoprene cover. The same high-pressure and moisture-resistant material is used in both cases, as it’s great at providing both comfort and maximum protection from dirt, debris, spills, UV rays and water damage. If you’re an avid off-roader then neoprene covers are for you.

Leather

To make your Kluger’s interior more stylish you’ll want to go for leather seat covers. Leather is known to make your car look and feel more luxurious than it actually is. Leather covers are also able to protect your seats from spills but they are not breathable or as easy to maintain. They need to be treated unless you love the patina they get over time.

Vinyl

Also referred to as leatherette or faux leather, vinyl covers are made to mimic the appearance and feel of actual leather covers. Although this makes them more affordable, vinyl covers are not as comfortable or as stylish as leather ones. Granted they are still a better choice than most other synthetic covers but they aren’t as close to the level leather covers are.

Nylon

Nylon seat covers are known to be water-resistant and quick-drying as they don’t hold moisture. Also, seat covers for Toyota Kluger are a lot more durable than most seat covers. But as you’d expect, Nylon covers are less breathable than most covers and they get stained rather easily.

Denim

The same material you have your jeans made of can be used to make seat covers for Toyota Kluger. If you want a waterproof and tough material as a seat cover that also looks somewhat stylish, Denim covers are for you. They are also quite comfortable as they are coupled with soft backing.

Mesh

Light and breathable, mesh seat covers are made for the hot summer days. They may blend in with the interior of your Kluger but they also won’t make your rides uncomfortable since they are not that rugged.

Velour

Made from either cotton or polyester and also similar to Velvet, Velour covers have a plush feel to them which makes them extremely comfortable. Their soft finish is what makes them ideal when riding over bumps. While they are not tough or water-resistant, Velour covers are still going to provide a reasonable level of protection.

Jacquard

Similar to Velour covers, Jacquard Kluger seat covers are made to be more rugged than Velour. This is thanks to the heavy-duty centre panel that runs along the entire length of the covers. Other than that, Jacquard covers aren’t that much different than Velour ones, except that they’re less comfortable.

Sheepskin

When you want to keep warm and not sweat as much, Toyota Kluger seat covers made of sheepskin are going to be the best option for you. These covers are the most comfortable ones you can get and they’re also quite luxurious too. But don’t expect protection from water spills or the sun with sheepskin covers.

Acrylic Fur

To avoid spending a fortune on sheepskin covers and get a fairly reasonable alternative, you should go for acrylic fur covers. These are made of a synthetic material that replicates the look and feel of sheepskin covers in the same way vinyl covers are made to be like leather ones. You should keep in mind that acrylic fur covers are not as breathable as sheepskin ones and also not as environmentally friendly.
